First, I really like this model and its features. I am able to connect via BLUETOOTH but unable to configure or connect to WI-FI. I have a very strong single. I event purchased a mesh extender that supports both 2.4 and 5. When attempting to connect to WI-FI I receive the following message: ‘Unable to join Wi-Fi access point. Please ensure your device is within range to the access point. I also downloaded the app that is suggested by this blog and ran the speed test which pasted with flying colors. I have attempted several time to pair but no luck. What do I do now?

Spoke to Orbit agent this morning. Went through the same stuff as I did in resetting the product. After spending nearly 45 minutes on phone as agent was going back and forth to talk to the real specialist, it was decided to replace the product. Will see what happens when the replace is replaced and connects to Wi-Fi.

I received the replacement B-Hyve and still same issue. 1) I removed the old one, 2) Added new one 3) attempt to comment to Wi-Fi same issue as above 4) I rebooted my router. Same issues all over again. I will have to wait until Monday to call for support.

WOW…my head is spinning. I spent the better part of Monday with XFINITY who is my internet provider. First they ran all kinds of network tests and found some errors on the 2.4GH network and claimed the fix them, yeah NOT. Please note, my 5GH network is disabled per there request. Then they are telling me that I have bad devices, yes I have two devices that won’t connect to the WI-WI network. Then they claim that the speed that I am out is maxed out as it is at 1000 with 35+devices. Well ok, I can kind’a understand that, so I placed an upgrade to 1200 which will support more than 35 devices. Please they are sending me a replacement router. At this point I am going to wait till I receive the replacement and the network speed is upgraded.

I am shocked that this user group is non attentive to this matter.

Just can’t wait…speed been increased to 1200 and I have added a few more WI-FI devices to insure I can still to this. I proceeded to do this with the XR and it fails in every direction in connecting to the WI-FI. I called ORBIT support and speaking to someone who I believe just woke up or on drugs. After a brief moment with the tech, he hung up on me. So, I have another call in to the support team. POOR POOR POOR.

I have the same issue, cannot connect to wifi. everything is in the same room:PC, router, phone and hyve. BT works just fine but will not switch over to 2.4 G wifi. and orbit support is a 9 to 5 operation.

Back on the phone on Friday just to be hung up three time. On the fourth call I did a little rant and asked for a supervisor. Guess what, I am assuming I got to a supervisor because she knew more than the first line .. We spent nearly 120 minutes debugging the issue. A report was to be written and sent up for review. I am to call back over the weekend for an update.

I sometimes a bit late updating as I have to cool off as the first line support people 1) talk like they have marbles 2) don’t know how to really fix anything as they are reading from a script.

So,I called back today and spoke to an agent and they could not find anything in the system. I asked for a supervisor and was told to call back on Monday. POOR POOR POOR

I have similar issues, could not connect wifi to save my ass. Based on a hint from an Orbit support person, just before I was cut off, that he hyve does not like ‘blended’ wifi networks. Both 2.4 & 5.6 Ghz service having the same SSID. I turned off the 5.6 on my asus RT-AC86U and it connected right up. How to handle this situation longer term is a new issue for me.

@EEEEES Frankly, that makes zero sense. I have an Orbit system with Gen2 hub and have NO problem with WiFi (lots of other issues, but that’s not one of them lol).

Asus routers are finicky. I’m running UniFi. Set up a separate network (guest or regular) with a separate SSID and restrict it to 2.4 GHz. That should work.

What model of device(s) do you have at your hose bib(s)?

Mine are all 24639s (XD4-port) and while they will connect individually by Bluetooth, they NEED the WiFi Hub (21006) to connect via WiFi. Check your models and documentation.

So were you able to set the SSID and the type of security using the “advanced” selection? Weird, because it looks totally straightforward except for that. Good luck to you – but it’s probably a “self-solve” issue…doubt you’ll find much help otherwise. See pic.

OMG.. That worked. Looks like the APP has a flaw in its coding. My hat is off to you. I now have it online using my WI-FI network.
