Getting started with B-hyve

If you have just purchased a B-hyve timer/Hub or our B-hyve Flood Sensors and Hub and have any questions or need help with setting up your new B-hyve products then this guide will help.

First things first, you will want to download the B-hyve app on either the App Store or Google Play Store depending on which phone/tablet you are using

Once you have the B-hyve app downloaded you will then want to open it and create an account using your email address and a password of your choice.

If this is your first time using the app, and you have no devices paired to your account then you will be immediately asked to start pairing a device. Please use the following links for help with pairing the device that you have:

These next two articles focus on our GEN 1 version of the B-hyve Indoor/Outdoor timer which has unique pairing steps compared to the other versions/models:

The articles above should help with getting your timer paired and connected to your B-hyve app and home WiFi but should you run into any issues I would recommend checking out the following article for help:

We also recommend using our OrbitAssist app to help identify any potential network issues that may arrive. You can see how to utilize this by clicking here

Once you have paired your device, you will be asked to give it a name (This is helpful for identifying the device you are using in the app), and to enter the address where the device is located.

*Note: The address is needed in order for the device to recognize what time zone it is in as well as being able to know the local weather forecast by using the station nearest you.*

After putting in this information the timer will then let you know that the initial setup is finished, and then give you the option to continue the setup by adding any zones that are needed for your timer, or any temperature settings for your flood sensors.

We recommend hitting “Continue” and finishing the setup now if you are able to for the easiest route.

If you do not want to continue now then you can use this article later for help with setting up your zones: How do I add zones to my system

If you do select “Continue” then you will be asked to select how many zones you have connected to your timer. Once you select how many you have and hit “Next” the app will begin testing your zones to make sure that they work correctly. It will run through each zone you selected, and you can end the test early by tapping on “Next”.

You will then be asked if you would like to use “Smart Watering” or “Custom” programs.

For Smart Watering, if you choose this then the app will use your location to create programs automatically based on the needs of your lawn and the local weather. Below are some helpful articles for smart watering and what you can do with it:

If you select “Custom” then you will be taken to the “Programs” section of the app where you can create custom programs for your timer to use. Here are some helpful links for programming the device that you have:

Once you have paired your device, added your zones, and created your programs then you should now be good to go!

There are some additional parts of the app as well that you may be interested in, if you are then Click here to view another article on the rest of the app.
