With the Orbit Branded 7-Strand sprinkler wire (50 ft.), the wire strand is 50 feet in length, and each wire will adequately handle one solenoid valve up to a maximum distance of 800 feet.

Other brands of sprinkler wire may come in different gauges, but ours is 18-gauge.

If you are working with a different size sprinkler wire, then keep in mind that the lower the gauge on the wire, the further it can travel. For example, a 12-gauge sprinkler wire can travel much further than an 18-gauge or higher sprinkler wire.
