How to reconnect the 1st-Gen Indoor/Outdoor Timer to a new router (Or after a change to your router settings)

How to reconnect the 1st-Gen Indoor/Outdoor Timer when changing routers: 

For iOS: 

1. Put your timer into pairing mode by rotating the dial to off and pressing the reset button (located inside the swing panel) for 10-12 seconds. 

2. Tap My B-hyve and then Devices. 

3. Choose Indoor/Outdoor Timer.  

4. You will need to connect to the timer’s WiFi network (Orbit_SmartHome_xxxxx).  

5. Tap Open Settings to navigate to your phone’s settings.  

6. From there, go to the WiFi menu and connect to Orbit_SmartHome_xxxxx. 

7. The timer will look for available WiFi networks to connect to – If you don’t see your network, tap refresh to try again. 

8. If you don’t see your network, move your timer closer to your WiFi router during reconnection.  

  • If at any point you have any difficulties, you may need to reset the timer. To reset, press and hold the reset button on the back of the timer’s display for 10-12 seconds.

9.  If your network is not secured, you can tap Connect to Network.  

10. If your network is secured, you will be prompted to input the network password (security key). Once your password is entered, tap Connect to Network. 

11. If your WiFi network does not broadcast its SSID (network name), you will need to select the Advanced button to enter your network’s connection details.  

12. Your timer should now be connected to your network and you should be able to control it through your phone. 

For Android: 

1. Put your timer into pairing mode by rotating the dial to off and pressing the reset button (located inside the swing panel) for 10-12 seconds. 

2. Tap My B-hyve and then Devices. 

3. Choose Indoor/Outdoor Timer 

4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Update Wi-Fi Settings” 

5. You will be taken to the timer network connection screen, on this page you will select your timer’s network to connect your phone to temporarily. 

6. Tap Connect to Timer Network. 

7. The application will then look for available WiFi networks to connect to – If you don’t see your network, tap refresh to try again.  



8. If you don’t see your network, move your timer closer to your WiFi router during reconnection.

  • If at any point you have any difficulties, you may need to reset the timer. To reset, press and hold the reset button on the back of the timer’s display for 10-12 seconds.

9.  If your network is not secured, you can tap Connect to Network.

10. If your network is secured, you will be prompted to input the network password (security key). Once your password is entered, tap Connect to Network. 

11. If your WiFi network does not broadcast its SSID (network name), you will need to select the Advanced button to enter your network’s connection details.  

12. Your timer should now be connected to your network and you should be able to control it through your phone. 


  • If you run into any issues connecting your B-hyve device to your new network, try rebooting your phone and/or trying to connect using a different phone or device.
