I have a few questions about the WIFI Timer with firmware 031:

The WIFI rain delay is a fixed 24 hours. This has caused a few issues. The weather reports can change over a 3-4 hour period. Once the 24 hour delay is active, even if there is no rain, the timer continues to delay. Suggest that the delay should be reduced 12 hours and then look at the report. This way if rain is removed from the report the timer will allow watering.

I have an external rain gauge detector. This works well now that I have bypasses the sensor leads with a 0.1 disk cap. The timer shows SENS when the watering time is active and the zones are inactive. However the watering history shows that the zone watered when it didn’t. Does this affect the calculation for Smart Watering?

Noticed that some zones active with Smart Water will activate even when the wetness is shown at 100%. The water time is 20-30 minutes. Other zones that show wetness between 40 and 60% don’t water. Is there a setting that I’m missing? Just received calibration cups to try for a better match. Haven’t used yet.

RCC344, Thank you for your feedback on our smart watering system. Currently the timer is set to update overnight every 24 hours but you will always have the option to override a rain delay from your app if the forecast changes by the time you need to water.

As for the smart watering, your watering history should reflect what is actually watered, even when a rain sensor delay is triggered. Could you please provide the MAC address for your timer and I will see if there are any settings keeping this from working properly. You may replay on this forum or email at [email protected].

I received a set of calibration cups and have more questions. Several of my zones (installed by a professional) are a mix of rotors and spray heads. When I set the smart watering I can choose one or the other. How is this handled? The cups near spray heads will receive more water than rotors on the same zone. Does this make the reading invalid? No real way to correct other than major retrofit of the zone.

My MAC address is 44:67:55:02:0b:aa In particular all smart zones (1-6) show 100 %

rcc344, In the catch cup section of your smart details there is a link to a how to video and just to the right of that there are the catch cup instructions. some cups will collect more water, this is a stet to calculate the coverage of your sprinklers. As long as you follow the instructions, and watch the video you’ll be fine with your readings. For your heads we recommend not mixing sprinkler types on your line. However i’d suggest picking which ones you have more of installed for your smart details.
