Could Orbit please consider adding a wireless soil moisture sensor product that connects to the hub. This would allow watering based on actual soil requirements instead of arbitrary cup calculations and weather data. It would greatly increase efficacy of smart watering and remove the need for weather data aggregation. It would simply schedule watering when the sensor is below a set threshold. This would further make the B-Hyve ecosystem “smarter” and be a market differentiator.
YES YES YES!!! This is the next logical step for Orbit, to stay competitive.
Why?
My weather forecast calls for rain, but we don’t get any at my house sometimes. BUT my smart timer quits watering anyway! It’s going to be 111F today. I have a young orange tree that needs careful watering. I have to go out and stick my finger in the dirt, and I don’t know what I’m doing!
