This is the second wifi timer I have installed from Orbit and this timer also drops my wifi frequently. The firmware it was sent with is DEBUG-0010. Please upset the firmware:

Hi, PLEASE help……my timer literally goes offline 5 times a day and it is extremely annoying. Can support please update my firmware?

My MAC ID address is 44:67:55:02:A0:FA
My current firmware version is 0023
    My Hardware version is WT25G2-0001

This device is currently useless as it is never connected. It used to have a stable connection and never dropped connection until recently. Nothing else changed, same wifi, same location etc.

Sorry about that, your timer is currently not connected so I can’t push an update to it.

If you could try power cycling it (unplug and plug it back in) that usually resets the connection. If not you’ll need to contact our tech support team at 1-800-488-6156.

Once it’s connected they can update it or if the power cycle works post back here and we’ll try to catch it while it’s still connected to get it updated.

    Thanks!

Add me to the list of people who have recently had major problems with wifi.

    MAC: 44:57:55:03:A6:61
    Firmware: 0023
    Hardware: WT25G2-001
    Model: 57950

I contacted support and they said its probably an issue with a connection with my router. It’s no more than 20 feet away, their fix is to install an extender. My wifi signal can be used .25 miles away while I sit at a city park – it’s hard to believe that it’s an issue on my end.

I’ve got it connected 2x today, 1x with Customer Support on the line. That one lasted 4 minutes before it disconnected again.
They said 23 is the latest firmware. Is that true?
This unit isn’t worth anything over my previous controller if it cannot connect to WIFI.

    Sorry for the connection issues.

V23 of the firmware is our latest fully released version, however, we have a newer version that has better reconnect code, v38, that we are pushing to timers with connection issues, it has passed internal testing but is in limited release as of today.

I tried to update your timer but it was once again offline, I can try it again later or you can try calling tech support again and while you have them on the line get it connected and have them update it for you.

    Thank you!

I’ve been having an issue with my timer as well. I got everything connected and synced properly with my phone when I first installed it. After a couple weeks the timer desync’d with my phone. Now, when I try and resync the timer with my phone, they won’t communicate. My phone keeps on searching for the timer’s network, to no avail. I think I might need a firmware update.

I looked for your timer but there is not a MAC Address that matches what you supplied. So I looked by your name, if I found the right one, I think I did. There is an account for you, email includes …monticello…, but there are not any devices on that account.

You can factory reset the timer then start the pairing process over, this should get you operational again.

    Thank you!

Sorry, I am a 9-5er and didn’t see your reply until just now and your timer is once again offline so I can’t update it.

I know this is frustrating, the best thing might be to try tech support and make sure it’s connected when you get them on the phone. Maybe you could try early one day since I see you’re in CA and they should be on the phones by then.

    Tech support: 1-800-488-6156

I’ll leave your timer’s screen up all day and check it periodically and if I catch it connected I’ll try the update.

    Thanks!
