ParticipantJust got home from vacation and found my controller was not working. Display flashes randomly, my app can connect to it, but can’t control anything. I have power cycled the unit a few times, up to 10 minutes of no power. I have replaced the battery. None of the buttons on the unit work.
At first when I tried to test any of my zones, it all looked like it is working correctly from the app. No messages saying any type of failure or warning, but nothing happens on any zones. Now when I try and connect to it from my phone, I get a message that the unit is off-line.

ParticipantTry a factory reset, which is putting your timer into off mode and then hold down the reset button on the back of the display panel down until you see the timer screen display everything at once. After that try updating your Wi-Fi settings, and see if it works. If you’re still experiencing issues please contact our product support line or email us at [email protected], all lowercase.

ParticipantHi Ryan,
Thanks for responding. I tried holding the reset as you suggested, only problem is that the display just flashes all LCD items about every 2 seconds or so, so I have no idea what mode I’m in. Tried pulling the plug and doing it again, same thing. Just flashed everything the screen every couple of seconds. So I’m going to try the support site and see what they say.

ParticipantEnded up just buying a new controller, stayed with Orbit, but not happy that the one I had only lasted 2 years.

ParticipantI’ve had the same problem. I’ve had this Bhyve for its second season now. Initially I was told to unplug the bar from the control panel to the transformer. This worked initially. The problem kept recurring so I explored more. I found that closing the door, pressing the front of the control panel could make it come back on, but if it were on these actions could make it go off. It suggests to me there is an electrical defect somewhere between the power supply cable and the controller – some wire is not properly connecting. I’m pleased to see I’m not the only one – though this is something Bhyve needs to address if it wants to keep us customers happy.

ParticipantHello Ronwao1949, I see that you were able to get your device paired, however it still isn’t connected to the internet. If you haven’t already you could try factory resetting your timer, unplugging your ribbon cable for about 5 seconds, and then try updating your Wi-Fi settings. Also if possible you will want to edit your DNS settings on your router, to 8.8.8.8 with 8.8.4.4 as a back-up. You could also try power cycling your router and timer. If you need any other assistance just let me know.
Hello [email protected], I’ve checked your timers, and both are currently up to date and connected to the internet. So it sounds like your previous connection issues were solved. So just to confirm when you press on your timers control panel/the buttons it turns your timer on, and off?

ParticipantHi Ryan
I appreciate you are able to verify my system – Today by the way I am at my other location, where all is working fine.
You are correct, right now it is working fine. But between about 9:00 and 12:00 or so, it was off line, and I imagine that if I were there, I would have seen that blank screen. So although it appears to be solved, I would say it is not yet.
One thing that would help – do you folks have the ability to see when the units have been on line or not? That would provide something of a history of this unit. If not would it be helpful if I tried to track when it goes off and on?Spread the love!July 6, 2018 at 11:21 pm #4416Ronwao1949

Participant@[email protected], Sorry but I can only see when it was last connected. Also just so you know It looks like your 47pp timer just lost connection (is this the one with the issues you were referring to earlier?). It would be helpful to track how often its going offline. If you need any more assistance it may be more helpful to call in for direct assistance from and agent (I suggest calling later in the week though).
Ronwao1949 try factory resetting your timer, and then try updating your Wi-Fi settings. Also edit your DNS settings on your router, to 8.8.8.8 with 8.8.4.4 as a back-up. Try power cycling your router, and timer as well. If you need any other assistance just let me know.
