I have hardware version WT25H-0001, firmware 0045. iOS is up to date (don’t have the ipad in front of me, but i checked for updates just the other day and there was none.)

Perhaps as a teaching moment you can help me understand how resetting the timer will help. Doesn’t the app get its information through your server? If the timer<->server communication is working ok but the app<->server isn’t (or doesn’t appear to be), wouldn’t this be a app<->server problem. Then how would resetting the timer affect the app<->server communication?

Presumably resetting the timer means complete reconfiguration once it’s powered back up, including re-entering my smart watering settings. If there’s reason to think that resetting the timer will actually work, then ok. I’ll do it. But if going through this much effort merely because turning it off and turning it back on again is solution 1 in the IT troubleshooting handbook, well, I’d like to think we can take a more analytical approach.

For the sake of discussion if solution 1 doesn’t work, what would solution 2 be?

Schooner, If you factory reset your timer, your programming will still be saved through your app so there is no need to worry about loosing anything. If you don’t want to try resetting your timer just try unplugging your ribbon cable for about 5 seconds, and then try updating your Wi-Fi settings.
