Tagged: B-hive, disconnect, Offline, orbit
Sporadically happens for no reason whatsoever. Happened about 2 weeks ago. Tried all the things listed in the app to get it to reconnect to wifi with zero luck. A few hours later all of a sudden it is connected again. Happened again this morning. It is offline now and cant get it to connect again. I am at my wits end with this thing, it is quite flaky. I have a powerful router that covers other items right near the Orbit and those work totally fine. About to jump ship and try a different company because this is quite annoying.
Exact same issue.
Symptoms of a mismanaged software team with little end user testing
Are there any alternatives?
Completely resetting the device is not a viable solution either as has been posted in other threads. If I was on vacation somewhere now, all my grass would be dead when I got home.
I had this same issue with wireless dropping. It became so frustrating that I bought a replacement b-hyve controller which also had the same issue. I reset my Asus router which did not help. I added a mesh node to my wireless network within close proximity of the b-hyve controller which did improve signal but not connectivity.
so, I configured the controller with a static IP address, reconnected it to my network and have not had a disconnect in about 36 hours.
Is it possible the device is getting a lot of direct sun and it is heating up the unit to the point it faults?
Controller is in my basement, no sun getting anywhere near it!
