Is this while the program is running, or while you’re doing a manual watering? A manual watering will bypass the rain sensor, but the custom program will listen to the rain sensor. The priority order goes as follows:

    1. Manual Watering
    2. Rain Sensor
    3. Rain Delay
    4. Custom Program
    5. Smart Program

If you want to test that the rain sensor is working, you’ll need to set up a start time for a few minutes into the future, wait for it to kick on, and then bypass the sensor switch by manually activating the rain sensor. If the issue persists through a custom program, we’d be happy to take care of this for you. You’d need to simply reach out to us via email and one of my agents can take care pf it for you. On June 24, 2018 RCC344 wote:

Here is the info on what worked for me with the external rain sensor.
I placed a 0.1 uf 50 volt ceramic disk capacitor across the sensor terminals of the bHyve box. No polarity required to be followed. Just insert along with the sensor wires.
This means that the external sensor wires and the disk cap are both connected to the same screw terminals, in parallel. This fixed the on/off oscillation of the sensor.

I installed our B-hyve irrigation controller last Thursday. Installed Friday. Liked it. After doing my homework: Ordered a RainBird MiniClik. Installed it.

In order to avoid the whole “cycling” thing I installed a 0.1µF ceramic disc capacitor across the sensor terminals from the start. Lo and behold: The sensor did not appear to be working. Looked at the display. It was oscillating. “Huh?” Removed the capacitor. Fixed.

    Go figure.

I’m using about half the wire, about 12-15 feet.

I have the rain sensor set to 1/8″ and had over 1/3″ of rain yet the rain sensor indicator did not light. If I manually press the plunger on the sensor the light comes on. This is the second sensor I’ve tried, the first one triggered once and never turned off, and this one won’t turn on. Whats the solution?
