Thank the ones posting about the Bluetooth issue. I was able to use my older iPad to load the firmware.
But one of the timer read 41% battery life with new batteries. If I pull the battery tray and put it back in, it will go to 100% until I change menu pages. Then it pops back to 41%. Not sure what that bug is. But it works…

I can confirm the battery issue. I am seeing the same thing:

    Device #1: 100%. Device #2: 37%.

So I swapped the battery (left batteries in place) tray. Force Closed App. Both phones. Started App. Result –

    Device #1: 100%. Device #2: 37%.

I created an account to post that it is hard to believe to what has just happened. Thousands of 21005 devices have been bricked it looks like. Everybody who tried to access one in the last few days. Mine is blinking bluish white, just like all of yours, and refuses to update the firmware. iOS did not work, as expected. But my old Samsung S7 did not work either.
Basically, this sort of “firmware update” is a diversion. A virus that has killed a lot of devices.
I see that many managed to get hold of a human on Orbit support. I wasn’t so lucky. Only chatbots for me.
It would be prudent for Orbit to reach out to everybody who owns a 21005, warn them about the situation and explain what the company is going to do about this. This smells like a class action lawsuit to me. This is just crazy.

Thank you to all the posters keeping everyone informed. I am a new customer this week and have had the same issues. Not a great first impression, but I have heard good things previously so I am hopeful this is just unlucky timing for me.

I created an account to follow this thread for updates, but wanted to say thanks.

I have 7 older timers from last year and the year before. I don’t dare touch them now because they are still working based off what I had setup last year. Two new I bought are blinking flashing with this firmware update issue. Amazon will send two more so I am not worried about that.

Last year I had 1 of my 7 stop working. Simply would not open the valve even when the device worked. Warranty worked pretty well, they just give you a code and you order a new one from their site for free with free shipping. So they replace it without issue.

Hopefully they will push a fix. I chatted with support and they said Saturday they would push the fix. But who knows, I won’t try to setup the new ones or return old ones until we get a fix.

    Good luck everyone!

Created an account just to say… THERE IS AN UPDATE LIVE IN THE APPSTORE (iOS). Not sure if this is the one we’ve been waiting for.

The update is there on iOS, and it is currently updating the firmware. It was not able to do this before for me.

The iOS update and factory reset worked for me. The device is not bricked and it works well 😃

It seems the firmware updates with the new IOS app. However, I have not been able to connect to the device. I tried removing it and adding it again, but no luck. Pressing the button five times causes the LED to blink blue then green then off.

I deleted the hub and timer, put the hub in reset, then added the hub and faucet timer. Now it works!

I think they have published the update to IOS app store. I deleted my app and downloaded it again, then it started to work and firmware was updated successfully.

Works now. Delete app from phone reinstall. Once you login delete the device that is flashing which is stuck. Then add new device firmware will update this time. You will have to do factory reset but it will work then you will be all set.
