Tagged: wiring
Hello Everyone,
I’m thinking of purchasing the B-Hyve timer. My current sprinkler timer is hardwired on the exterior of my house. Does anyone here have any information about hardwiring the B-Hyve? I looked through the instruction manual and all it says is contact an electrician (not helpful). Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
Ryan
I also would like to hard-wire my timer. I don’t mind having an electrician do the work.
If it is hard-wired, is the unit still covered by the 2-year warranty?
@rjamison, We say to contact an electrician because our timers are not sold in a way to be hardwired. You would need to cut the cord and then wire your device in. Since you’d would be dealing with high voltage we would have you contact an electrician.
@ryan, Thank you for the information. I figured this was the case but wanted to ask in case I missed something.
I too would like to know if hard-wiring the unit will void the 2-year warranty. Will you please let us know?
Hard wiring your device will not void your warranty.
@RYAN, Thank you very much for the prompt response and assistance! This information is very useful.
It’s pretty straight forward to hardwire if you pop open the transformer cover. No need to cut the supplied cord, you just need to remove it and reattach power and ground inside the transformer. It’s covered really well in this youtube video (not mine):
