I am switching from an Irritrol (Toro) Total Control Model TC-9EX-B controller to a new 12 station B-Hyve. The old unit has two wires that were connected to “Master Valve/Pump Start” though my home is on a municipal water system. The system was installed by a prior owner and I don’t have the original plans.
Three of the zones come on with Test but the others do not though I can hear the valves activate in Test mode.
There was no pump start relay separate from the old controller and I do not see that one is installed but perhaps one is hidden.
Does anyone know if I need to purchase the Orbit Pump Start Relay to complete the operation?
Hello Howard, the timer will need a pump start relay to operate. Most systems do require this because they are low voltage (24 vac) systems, and most pumps need 110-220 to operate. You may have a relay attached already. There should be two wires coming from the pump relay, one goes to common and one goes to pump.
