Okay, for the last week my timer has been watering one cycle per day – even though the smart water forecast indicates it will run three cycles (1:26AM, 8PM and 10:45PM) each day. Nonetheless, it only waters one cycle (1:26AM) and not enough (effective irrigation) to account for the Landscape ET value calculated. So, in the zone reports I start and end each day with 0 Balance – but shouldn’t it be negative since more ET was experienced than water applied (rain + irrigation). Does it ever catch up for these negative balances? I can’t see where it does.
I thought the goal was to water deeply and not so often to develop strong roots? This doesn’t seem to be possible if it waters one cycle everyday versus two or more in a day and then take a few days off.

@madskier I am looking into your timer with my server developers to see if we can figure out what is going on with this one. Thank you for your patience.Spread the love!August 29, 2019 at 2:56 am #78016
Thanks for looking into this. I can see in the event log that a few different updates occurred. However, tonight the timer didn’t connect after midnight – like normal – I assume for the weather ‘look back’. So the ET for the day is way off as it is using the reference ET not actual (.16 vs .22). We’ll see if it only does one of the forecasted three cycles again today.
On another note, why do all the dates in the event log show as ‘invalid date’?Spread the love!August 29, 2019 at 6:10 am #78017
It updated the ET after it finished the cycle scheduled for 2AM. Then promptly rescheduled the 8PM and 10PM cycles to occur tomorrow along with a 1:26AM cycle. This will mean that except for six days (due to received rain and a couple of manual cycles I ran to try and eliminate the Moisture Balance at Zero issue) the timer will have run one cycle every morning for the month of August. While my lawn seems to be doing well, I am sure my pocket book won’t be when my I receive my next water bill. ?
As I stated in the OP, I don’t think this is the way it is supposed to be working – and from the forecast perspective neither does the timer as it consistently forecasts a schedule of multiple cycles with 2-4 days of separation between forecasted watering – only to water one cycle per day.
I am hoping you and your Server developer(s) are honing in on an answer. While I know it is impossible to accurately predict a resolution time. Some indication on that would be helpful in setting my expectations.

Any updates on this topic? It is continuing to forecast multiple cycles but executing only one Every Day. If an answer/fix doesn’t come soon I’ll have to toss this thing as I cannot afford water bills created by the way it is operating.

@madskier they’re having issues looking at it right now. Do you mind if I send an email to the email address you have on your account?Spread the love!September 24, 2019 at 9:54 am #78146
