ParticipantI know it’s been brushed on before, without resolution. The way that the app deals with multiple hose timers is (almost) unusable with smart watering.
What I don’t understand is why a simple fix for the problem is not out. Why doesn’t the app treat the Wifi hub the same as the normal in-ground control units, with each hose timer connected to it a different zone? That way the systems knows not to water more than 1 hose timer at a time. So if you have a 4-way spliter on a faucet and 4 hose timers only one can run at the same time due to water pressure restrictions, just like a zone in a in-ground. It would also work if you have 2 hose timers on 2 faucets and you want them independent from each other, just add an additional Wifi hub with 2 timers on each. That would create 2 systems with 2 zones each. This would solve all the issues with smart watering and hose timers for me and for the others on this forum (from what I can infer from their posts).
I have read the current work around with time restrictions so the timers can’t overlap, but that seems to remove the auto-ness of the smart watering. Since I am not controlling when and for how long each time waters, it is very hard to carve out the right amount of time and days that the timer is restricted to. I am currently running 3 timer and hopefully on my way to 6, but the restriction-time scheduling is already complicated. I have experienced run-times from 19 minutes to 70 minutes and frequencies of everyday to 19 days. With each additional timer the schedule has to be completely redone with exponential complications
Is a fix coming? Is it being worked on? Is there an ETA? 1 month? 6? 1 year? 10 years?

Keymaster@yourself this is coming in the future, although we can’t put an ETA on it just yet. It is one of the top projects on our priority list, so we’re hoping to have it sooner rather than later.

ParticipantThanks for the reply Stephen, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a 1 timer per zone and no overlapping zones type solution. And hopefully by next spring

ParticipantHey,
I believe I need this feature as well. I have 3 hose timers at the same location and want them to work in harmony with the automatic watering. It would seem that this should be treated like a virtual timer with 3 (in my case) zones.
It’d be great if Alexa could then control these zones via the virtual timer that stitched them together.
How close are to seeing this capability?

ParticipantSames here. We have been patiently waiting

ParticipantHere as well.
3 Hose timers
3 Different weather forecasts
3 Different rain delays
3 different weather adjustments
and a whole lot of clicking back and fourthThis seems like it would take this product to the next level. Why not let me just make them zones?

ParticipantAgreed!
This feature is something I have been waiting for and would make things so much easier.
Is there any way we can see/ask/let B-Hyve know this feature is watned by many users? Thanks.

ParticipantEight months later, and I’m still as eager as ever for this feature. It just rained, and I have to go into 5 different zones to tell bHyve not to water for the next week. Grrr!!!
I feel that bHyve has no idea how much of a shortfall this substandard integration is. I can’t easily install control wires with all my concreted/paved areas around my property, and on multiple levels and slopes pressure during watering is a big issue. So I can only run one zone at once. Very important for me to not have to set my lawn to water at 2am in the morning so that it doesn’t interfere with my 3am this or 4am that. I’ve been recommending to people NOT to use by bHyve faucet taps until this is sorted out. It seems like this feature, which really should be fundamentally quite straightforward, would take a great product to become an unstoppable product. As it is, it’s still the best solution for me, but I feel so held back by this cheap and lazy programming arrangement where all my 5 faucets taps “talk” to each other, but actually …. COMPLETELY IGNORE each other.
There’s no team work with bHyve faucet taps, even though ‘bHyve faucet’ already includes the ‘t’, ‘e’, and ‘a’. Just add the ‘m’ and we’re good to go. (‘m’ for money to your developers???)

Participant@stephen Just hoping for an update. Are we going to be able to “Zone” hose timers? Is it still a top project on your priority list? I am now up to 7 timers and the restrictive control method is really taking the smart out of the watering.
I feel like there are a lot of people here waiting for a response or update. Not to mention all the people that want the feature that are not on this forum.

ParticipantI guess we just need to keep bumping these threads.
This isnt the only one. We need to keep them trending

ParticipantAlso MikeAnthony, send feedback via the app. Feature in settings.
Just confirmation that they are actually still working on this and haven’t abandoned, would be great, before I start going and investing in my next two for the back yard. Otherwise I’ll bite the bullet, install hundreds of metres of conduit, and jump ship to opensprinkler.com as part of my back yard project, and then slowly work to move my other … dare I call them …. ‘zones’ … over. hahaha

ParticipantI would love this feature also. I have 4 timers now and will probably buy 2 more.

ParticipantMan, there are a bunch of us consumers that would really appreciate this feature. I hope “someone” is listening.

ParticipantAgree, this needs fixing before I buy any more. There are other companies out there if Orbit can’t get there act together.
