I’ve noticed this watering season that I no longer receive notifications from my B-Hyve controller when automatic watering starts and stops. However, if I run the same watering program manually from the B-Hyve Android app, I do get the usual ‘watering in progress’ / ‘watering completed’ notifications on my Android phone or tablet. In trying to fix this issue, I deleted the app cache and data, reinstalled the B-Hyve app, made sure notifications are allowed in Android for the B-Hyve app, and checked the app to make sure all notifications are turned on. This issue occurs on Android versions 13 and 15. In previous years I did not run into this issue. But now, it appears that I only get notifications from the B-Hyve app, if the app is already running on my phone. I’ve had the B-Hyve controller for 3 years now. Please, any suggestions are welcome. I’d like to get notifications working again. Thank you.
May 23, 2025 at 7:33 am #83598::5/23/2025 Update: I noticed on my Android 13 phone, after getting a B-Hyve app update (version 3.0.48) applied, I started getting the automatic notifications for “Watering in Progress” and “Watering Completed.” These notifications appeared without me making any other configuration changes to the app. However, on my Android tablet, which is running Android version 15, I did not get the automatic notifications. On the tablet, which is also running the B-Hyve app (version 3.0.48) installed on 5/21/2025, no watering notifications. Seems weird – since it’s the same version of the app, but at least I’m getting the notices on my phone now.
May 24, 2025 at 8:05 am #83618::I’m on an iOS device version 3.0.48 as well and I noticed when I’m actively watering a zone and launch the app, it doesn’t tell me on the home screen that the zone is active and running instead I receive a push notification stating watering has started which I believe is new but don’t recall. The only way I was able to stop watering was to set an immediate rain delay.
May 25, 2025 at 2:03 pm #83620::5/25/2025 Update: I’m now getting notifications on my Samsung Galaxy tablet, in addition to my phone. My tablet is running Android version 15. My Galaxy phone is running Android version 13. I’ve made no changes to my tablet configuration – other than running just the normal update routine on the installed apps once per day. Seems weird that it would just start working out of the blue – since I was already running B-Hyve 3.0.48 on the tablet before – and notifications did not start working until today. So glad I have my sprinkler notifications back. When I wasn’t getting them, I placed a leaf on top of a sprinkler head, and then checked later to see if the leaf had moved. Yeah, I know, this is the super lame way of knowing if the sprinklers ran. Cheers.
