ParticipantIt’s Saturday 3/31/2018 and I just installed the unit. I paired without issue but the website (Chrome Browser) is very, very slow, 15-20 seconds to get to a new page (Internet speed is 40mbps+). I tried to test my sprinklers using the Iphone app and get an error message that the server did not respond in time (or something like that).
I see other reports of what sounds like server issues. Makes me wonder if the server is in India or … and did I buy the right product.

ParticipantI’m having the exact same issue.
I installed this product last summer and it worked perfectly.
Today after winter I tried turning on the sprinklers to test them out and it wouldn’t connect- it kept timing out.I tried tons of things- deleting and re installing the app, resetting the internet connection, completely reinstalling the device on my phone (which was a nightmare because it wouldn’t pair).
After over an hour I finally was able to pair the device but then nothing would work. I couldn’t run any zones and the app kept crashing (would close and go to the home screen of my phone when trying to set up the zones). Now I’m trying to log in and I get a 503 error. I try logging in on my pc and I get an error. I try resetting password and get an error the the account with that email doesn’t exist. I try to create a new account and get an error.
I hope they get this fixed because it is extremely frustrating.Of course their phone tech support is only open while everyone is at work during the week.

ParticipantSomething major is wrong with their servers. It’s not even finding my account right now, says it doesn’t exist.

ParticipantYes, I can’t login now either. The server has crashed or they took it offline for maintenance or…

ParticipantI wrote tech support. They replied already and said they’re checking to see what’s up.
Hope they resolve it soon.Spread the love!April 1, 2018 at 1:02 am #953andy

ParticipantSame here Andy.
Rest assured, this is the first time I’ve seen this happen and I’ve had this system for over a year. It’s been really awesome.Spread the love!April 1, 2018 at 1:35 am #955esirois
ParticipantI can now log in but whenever I try and run a zone I get te message that the device took too long to respond.

ParticipantI’m very disappointed with what happened yesterday. Not only I couldn’t use the app to irrigate with, but I also couldn’t log-in to the forums here to post a message about the 503 error I was getting.
I ended up doing the watering manually, but a few times the timer stopped by itself, presumably because of previous multiple requests that had failed when I was able to login.
I will be returning this device, unless if there’s a way to put the device in cloud-hands-off mode or server-less mode, where I can just use the app to interface with the timer without any need to connect to the Orbit cloud/server.
This was not an issue with the server or internet being slow. The server was inaccessible, and the account was no where to be found. This was an example why this should never have been built this way, depending on the cloud to let us access the device that is right here next to us.

ParticipantI agree. Why the heck does the orbit server need to be involved at at. Why can’t the app and the timer simply communicate on my network?
It seems unnecessary.Spread the love!April 2, 2018 at 3:41 pm #972Justin
KeymasterWe apologize for the issues you’ve experienced connecting to our servers over the weekend. We had a server outage and have taken steps to prevent this happening again in the future.
