I have a 6 zone unit. All zones are used. I need to add another valve. It can operate at the same time as one of the existing zones. I’d like to hook it up in parallel to an existing valve.
While I don’t yet know the resistance of the existing valve coils, nor the new one I’ve read that they vary from 20-60 ohms.
So the question is this. what is the zone output rated for ? I realize, being an old electrical engineer, that it’s not just the ohms of the coil as they are A/C powered. And I understand there is cutoff logic / over current limit for when a zone draws too much current.
Thanks!
I’ve done this very thing. No issues.
