Is there any chance that for those of us that have, or use personal weather stations, rain delay could be triggered by the actual station readings and not the forecast? In Florida we can get an inch of rain in one location and a mile or two away nothing. Having a PWS that measures an inch of rain during the afternoon and then having “smart” watering sprinkle that night is silly. Thanks.

What would be nice is if Orbit was able to use data from precipitation radar maps to not only increase accuracy, but provide more localized data for users. I suspect they would be able to download specific data to localized users based on approaching rain events very quickly. Not only that, but they would have information on total rainfall over time that could be used to specify delays in watering events to prevent further waste of water. Other factors like temperature, average wind speed and humidity information could also be factored into providing accurate delay settings.
