July 5, 2024 at 9:56 am #82523::
Timer is scheduled for every 2nd day. When a rain delay is automatically or manually turned on the next start time is pushed out 48 hours, not 24 hours. I tried manually setting a 12 hour delay, but the next start time was still pushed out 48 hours. Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone been able to fix the problem?
August 10, 2024 at 5:13 pm #82565::My weather forecast in the app and the weather delays are all over the place and incorrect. I’ve set it to the nearest airport and have tried other weather stations in the area.
The calendar in the app will show 0% perception- but still show the weather as rain – which triggers rain delays. And that on 100 degree dry days.
It currently shows rain for the entire week. Which is wrong. There may be a shower tomorrow. Otherwise hot and humid here in South Georgia and no rain.
At other times the sprinklers went off happily during heavy rain storms…
Called customer service and they told me to delete and reinstall. I reluctantly did that – which of course didn’t solve the problem.October 10, 2024 at 1:41 pm #82847::I too have been questioning the b-Hyve weather forecasting. FOr instance, today (10/10/24) on the calendar is the start of a 7-day rain delay due to the app forecasting rain the next 5 days (17%, 35%, 25%, 12%, 5%). By comparison all the weather online sites for my area forecast some overcast but 0% precipitation for the next 10+ days. And our rainy season doesn’t usually begin until end of November. Is this app going to dynamically update if there is no rain? Lately it’s been watering more frequently than I’ve ever run the sprinkler and I’m tempted to get off the automatic mode and set to my manual schedule so I don’t use so much water.
What is the app forecasting based on????October 12, 2024 at 1:25 pm #82850::Rain delay doesn’t work properly through the app. If I set a 24-hour delay, it does not actually go for 24 hours, it only suspends watering cycles until midnight. I have to set a 2 day/48-hour delay to get it to skip tomorrow morning’s scheduled cycle.
It does work correctly from the timer box, it’s the app connection that is the problem.November 1, 2024 at 9:06 pm #83000::Has anyone actually seen a definition about exactly how weather forecasting and rain delays work?
I know from the calendar in the app that the forecast is for two weeks in advance. Based on the calculated moisture levels as of the current day and the forecast for the next two weeks, smart watering can be calculated for that period. From examination of the weather information day by day, I can tell that the forecast values change at least every day.
You would think that a rain delay based on a forecast would be re-evaluated based on the actual weather date on the day. The same would apply to a wind delay. If the factor instituting the delay changes, especially during the scheduled irrigation time, it would be nice if the delay could be cancelled dynamically.
I think I need to better understand the relationship between the app, the cloud and the controller. I haven’t seen much information on this.
