What happened to the setting in the app where you can set the “degrees” of a circle that your rotors cover? I see that I can set the diameter/reach of the rotors per zone, but I cannot tell the app that I am only watering 90 degrees or 180 degrees. I used to be able to set that.
If the app thinks I am watering a 360 degree circle at 30 feet vs a 90 degree wedge at 30 feet, its soil moisture calculations are going to be *way* off (thinking the lawn got only 25% of what it actually received).

That’s a good question. I’m surprised no one has responded. But in thinking about this, wouldn’t a catch-cups test capture the application rates and thereby ‘tune’ the system? Idk, just a thought.
I ended up doing the math to calculate how much water gets laid down. I knew how many degrees of arc each rotor was covering, I knew my gallons per minute, and I knew the range of the rotors. I got about 0.25″ per hour.
I didn’t totally trust this, so I bought a pack of catch cups from Home Depot ($16.99 for 12), set them up, and got almost exactly the same result. 🙂
My coverage uniformity was anywhere between 50 and 75%, though, so I’m considering switching out the rotors for a different brand or nozzle configuration.
Good news! On your computational skils and the catch cup results exposing the coverage variations. When I did the catch cup test I saw coverage issues as well. Most of mine were correct by either raising the sprinkler head heights or orientations back to more vertical.
