Yesterday (5/18/2019) we had widespread flooding in the entire surrounding area (Dallas), it rained three or four inches. Then last night, the Smart Watering decided it needed to water my yard. Why? I had expected SW to know that it had just rained. I don’t have any programs going except for the Smart Watering.
The MAC is 47:67:55:02:de:63
@CurtCameron I’m not sure why the timer would not have recognized the rainfall unless your weather station didn’t actually report it. Are you still experiencing issues of this sort?
Stephen,
Thanks for the reply – as a matter of fact, I wanted to check on this again because yesterday (June 9), it POURED rain all across the area. The calendar screen of the B-Hyve app shows rain yesterday. But then this morning at 3 am, the Smart Watering watered my yard again.
When you said “your weather station,” you mean the data the unit gets from the Internet somewhere? Do I know where that is? I’m assuming that it takes my zip code and possibly street address to access local weather, but I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes.
I really like the idea of the timer box being able to check the weather forecast, but something is going wrong. My wife wants me to get rid of it. Help!
@CurtCameron you can check the weather station that your timer is getting information from by going to Settings > Devices > Your Timer > Weather Adjustments. You’ll see the map with your timer location and the location of your weather station.
The weather station it has me connected to is in Addison TX, about 9 miles away, but Addison had much rain yesterday too. What I don’t understand is why it keeps watering just hours after pouring rain.
@Curtcameron We have recently made some server changes and we’re working through a few last tweaks on this and this issue should be resolved. I’m sorry for the lack of responses, I have been spread out throughout other projects.
