    Hi,

    The Smart Watering explanation says
“Instead of watering for one long period of time, the Smart Watering Program will water multiple times for shorter intervals”

But what it effectively does is: Schedule multiple intervals one after another with no pause in between, like 06:00-06:10, 06:20-06:30, 06:40-06:50.
This is nearly the same a one long period of time, just with 3 on/off switches instead of 1.

So – what can I do to make it schedule Smart Watering once in the morning, and once in the evening?

    Thanks
    Michael

I would like to know the same. Since my soil is mainly clay the ‘smart’ watering, even if split into sections like you describe turns my lawn into a swamp with most water ending up in the drain. I much rather have daily watering than once every three days for a very, very long time. The result now is that my lawn looks bad and I waste more water than with my manual timer.
Before I could adjust the watering down but I do not see the option anymore in the app.

This is intentional. Clay soil doesn’t have the uptake to effectively absorb 30 straight minutes of watering, so they water for 10 minutes three times with a short break in between. This improves the absorption for the soil type.

Unfortunately it does not work. I do not want to water for 30 minutes on one day but rather a little bit every day. Even spreading it in 3 sections does not work, I have large puddles in my lawn killing the grass turning it into a swamp and large amounts of water ending up in the drain. After Orbit is done I can’t walk in many sections of my yard – this never happened when I used an old fashioned computer.
I deliberately increase the slope of the garden to try to fix this but nothing works. Previously at least I could adjust the amount of water but they have even taken that functionality away.
