I’ve been using bhyve for years and was part of the beta program in the past.

System worked fine last year. No need to water over the winter. Lawn started looking dry so I checked at the beginning of this week and it showed it was going to smart water Tuesday. Tuesday came and went and nothing. Looked Tuesday evening and it was set to smart water Wednesday. Wednesday came and went and nothing. Accessed the website for the cloud side (got access to this back in the beta days) and did some connection resets and resynced and hoped that would shake things loose. No watering this morning so I ran a manual watering on all zones and everything works fine. Zones show low moisture so that’s not the issue. The system just refuses to water on smart. Any input from anyone would help.

Yet another day and another missed watering. Starting to get frustrated here. Photos show scheduled and what happened (or didn’t).

Having same problem, Smart watering shows schedule but does not water. The calendar thinks it watered, and in my case, the zones show expected soil moisture, but no watering is done and it is not reflected in watering history. Have rebooted system. Help!

Any solution, I am also having the same problem. Worked for years, now scheduled waterings (smart watering) just disappear. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Nope, but it started working. I had an Orbit rain sensor connected since I installed this timer (testing the sensor for the dev team) and disabled it a long time ago without watering issues. I connect to my weather station in the weather settings to get my rain delays, so I haven’t used the hard-wired sensor in a long time and never had an issue leaving it connected. I disconnected it and made sure the sensor setting was off, and it started working.

Who’s to say the sensor was the issue or not? My guess is not. I’ve had this issue a few times where the smart watering wouldn’t work. I’d complain about it, and suddenly, it starts working as if someone went on the back end and fixed something. It’s frustrating.

Thank you. No rain sensor connected. Going to “nuke” the system tonight and just start over with a fresh install and see if that works.

I made no changes since last year when the system just stopped working. I’ve had an in-ground Bhyve timer for years now. I started with the original and was given this updated version by Orbit as part of their beta program 3-4 years ago. Their dev team made some staff changes a few years ago and stopped reaching out to me for beta testing, so I’ve not been in the loop for a while.

I was given access to their web portal with more options and data than the app, but even trying to shake the timer back into smart mode didn’t work this time.

Usually, an entire reset works, but I get mad doing that when I have all my settings dialed in for smart watering and loose them.

Same, working fine for years. The reset is going to suck but I am at the end of my patience. Thank you for all your help.

Spoke w customer service and was advised to reset and reprogram the timer from scratch. Reset by pressing button 5 times and add as a new device. Lots of work.☹️ Good luck!

It’s the easiest option for them so of course they will choose that.

Just wanted to update since it drives me nuts when I never see an answer either way on forums. After 4 hours of clearing and resetting the app and system to factory default (should not take most this long, I was having issues with a firewall and VPN I run on my phone and router) I got it to Smart Water this morning. Again, I had to clear and uninstall the app and hard reset and unplug the control unit for a minute or two for a fresh factory install on both the software and hardware side.

Headache aside I’m glad to hear it went well.

    Thanks, hopefully it sticks.
