Tagged: smart watering
Last night Smart Watering came on for the same zone 4 different times. It didn’t come on for any other zones, and was not supposed to because of the rain we have had. The zone it came on for is basically the same as some of the other zones, so I don’t know why it picked it. The one thing that could be tied to the anomaly is that earlier in the evening I was doing a manual run through all the zones and when zone 3 came on I skipped it because I was working in the area.
hello wayneat49, the watering of one zone multiple times is normal for smart watering. That is done to ensure water is properly absorbed into your lawn. As for why it watered based off of the details entered it probably saw that zone needed water. If you manually water some zones that would increase the soil moisture level of you zones and since you skipped zone three its level didn’t increase. So in other words just watch it for a few more days if it acts up just contact us, and please provide the mac address for your timer.
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for taking a shot at this, but it makes no sense in this situation for at least 2 reasons:
1) The zone it watered multiple times is no different in description from at least 4 other zones. So why pick this zone to decide it needs more water?
2) It watered the zone 4 times, 36 minutes each time. There is no way the zone would need that much water in one night, let alone in one month.
It is apparent to me that you have a firmware bug that should be addressed. I’ll be happy to help in that vein if you want, but don’t tell me one of my zones needed to be watered 4 times in 1 night (for a total of over 2 hours as it turned out), and none of my other zones needed any water. That would make no sense at all.
If you would like to check your firmware please provide us with your mac address.
