ParticipantMy B-Hyve app always tells me that the soil moisture in each zone is 100%. If I have the zones set to smart, they can go weeks without being watered. But when I grab a chunk of soil it’s pretty dry and my grass isn’t growing well. I always have to water manually or use the normal timer, which defeats the purpose of having this timer. Is there some kind of adjustment I can make to tweak the soil moisture? Or ideally maybe there’s a sensor I can install like those available with other timers?

Keymaster@louloizides you can change some of your advanced settings to adjust your soil moisture balance levels. Visit https://orbitcomm.wpengine.com/help-center/?guideTitle=Smart-Watering-Advanced-Settings-%26-Definitions&guideId=b43b4b5f-d973-37e1-8d1f-c77afec282ff for more information.

ParticipantStephen, thanks for the reply. I’m aware of the advanced settings – I just don’t quite understand which setting to edit. It’s all alien to me. I want my soil moisture content to show up as lower than the timer currently thinks it is – which one constant should I change?

Keymaster@loulozides You can actually change the current moisture balance on the zone page. Tap on the zone you wish to edit, and then tap on the current moisture balance. You can then slide the balance up and down.

ParticipantWhen I tap on “current moisture level graphic” on the zone screen, I can change the level. But how can I save it?
When I just go back (tap on the < arrow in the top left corner of the iPhone), the previous level is shown again.Spread the love!August 3, 2019 at 7:36 pm #77914pjfrank
ParticipantSounds like the same problem I’ve had for the last 2 months. Stephen has told me they have located a bug and his team is looking at it. Although nothing has happened over the last 3 weeks.(See my earlier posts). Basically Smart Watering is useless until this is fixed!

KeymasterDownloading the latest version of the apps should help with this. Please let us know if you’re still having issues with it.

ParticipantI have what may be the same issue but app shows soil moisture at zero for all five timers all the time. If I log into https://techsupport.orbitbhyve.com/#/ I can see my timers and the soil moisture appears to be updating for them. So smart watering appears to be working but app does not report accurate soil moisture. Tapping on the soil moisture in the app does allow me to make a change to soil moisture level as reported in the tech support website but app will still always show zero. They need to fix this bug.

ParticipantThe 1.7.31(505) build fixed my issue of the app always showing zero soil moisture all the time for all my timers. Hopefully it keeps working.
