Okay the update firmware failed, I then deauthorized but I can’t initiate pairing because the white light is just blinking…I think I just need to move on or get another unit…where can I send back to you?

Okay so instead of continuing to waste my time here and letting my plants die from forgetting to water them. Here is what I did.

Step 1: Remove the batteries and clean out the hose faucet timer
Step 2: Take only the timer don’t take the Wifi hub
Step 3: Go to Home Depot buy a new Timer/Wifi hub kit (save the receipt)
Step 4: Walk around inside do some window shopping or wait in the parking lot at least 5 minutes
Step 5: Open the packaging very carefully, cut the tape open the box
Step 6: Remove the broken timer, replace with your broken timer.
Step 7: Close the box and take it to the return counter and say “…I forgot I actually don’t need this anymore”

This worked perfect for me and now my sprinklers are running great. Thanks B Hyve!

Its all good…I should have read the reviews here before buying https://www.homedepot.com/p/Orbit-B-Hyve-Smart-Hose-Faucet-Timer-with-Wi-Fi-Hub-21004/303010777 obviously the product still has problem that I don’t imagine will be going away anytime soon. It’s a great effort and very affordable but I’m probably gonna go with the the Eve Aqua next https://www.evehome.com/en/eve-aqua they have more hardware integration and apple home kit integration directly with the device.

This morning I received by Amazon 3 B-hyve faucet timers + 1 B-hyve faucet timer with WiFi Hub.

I installed the App from the App store.
I installed the Wifi Hub: MAC 44:67:55:20:87:E2 ——> OK
I installed timer MAC44:67:55:11:0C:CF (delivered with the WIFI-hub) ————> NOT OK: blinks white for more that one hour .
    Did the following:
Removing batteries for some minutes and placing back: blinking white …
Pushing on the yellow knob short, long several times : blinking white
Via device detail menu: SEVERAL times update firmware: blinking white

    I installed timer MAC44:67:55:10:B5:CB ———> same issue
    I installed timer MAC44:67:55:10:A9:C4 ——> same issue

I did not yet installed the last one 🙁
    What shall I do ????

I’m updating the firmware on your hub. For your hose faucet timers you will need to (for each device) open up your bhyve app go to settings> devices> choose a timer> then select update firmware. Please let us know if you have any further issues.

I’m having the same problem. Paired my brand new Faucet Timer, it tried to update the firmware but failed. I got the flashing white light only, and tried repeatedly to update firmware again but it kept failing. Finally I de-authorized the timer, but now I can’t do anything because I can’t pair it again. I’m now stuck with a unit flashing white light no matter what I do.

I had the same issue: update didn’t work …. white LED blinking …. couldn’t connect any more …
I am using the APP with Iphone. BUT: when I did the update with an ANDROID smartphone all worked well! However: I had one timer -like you did – de-authorized. That one is loss: you can’t pair it again because you can’t bring the timer any more in pairing mode by pushing 5 times on the yellow button…
Conclusion: pairing a new faucet timer ALWAYS with android.

Conclusion: pairing a new faucet timer ALWAYS with android.

Funny, my experience is the opposite. I finally got my timer to update using my iPad, after it repeatedly failed on my Android phone (LG V20).

To all: If you get the blinking white light, DO NOT deauthorize the device. Once you do that it’s game over because there’s no way to pair again. As long as you still have the device authorized to your account, install the B-Hyve app onto whatever other phones/devices you have and hopefully find one that will successfully complete the firmware update. Again, for me, an iPad Mini 2 worked.

I have the same problem as others in this post. I have a wifi hub and 4 timers. 3 are working OK and one tried to update its firmware and failed. I deauthorized it from the system and now it is stuck with a white blinking light and no way to pair it. What do I do?
    Hub: 44675521403c
    Front Lawn Timer: 44675511a235
    Back Lawn Timer: 446755119b60
    Garden Timer: 446755126e67
Faulty Timer with white blinking light: 446755119b06

Well rob … when you reauthorized them, they are lost …. I had the problem last year (see my post from july 2018) … Probably you can try to contact your distributor and ask for replacement ….
Up to now, I have 8 timers connected with 1 hub and every thing is working well …

Hi Georges Yes I suspected the unit was gone. Pretty annoying that there is no warning about this issue.

*** DO NOT DEAUTHORIZE A HOSE FAUCET TIMER WHILE THE WHITE LIGHT IS BLINKING!!!

As has been mentioned by JETSTREAMBLUE, if a timer is blinking white and you deauthorize it, it becomes a paperweight.

Here Is Why: When you first pair your smart device with the timer the timer’s unique key is saved to your account and is used to connect to that timer from that time forward. Once an update is initiated the timer’s firmware is wiped from the timer to begin the installation of the new firmware. The timer is also put into bootloader mode which requires the key to connect to the timer and that is stored on your account, if you deauthorize (delete) the timer the key is deleted too and now you can’t connect to the timer.

A little about bootloader mode. When in bootloader mode the timer’s CPU is put into its highest speed to facilitate and speed up the update but if the update fails it stays in bootloader mode until it is completed. Because it’s now using more power to run the CPU faster your batteries will be drained fast if you don’t complete the update. It’s okay to pull the batteries until you get back to do the update but I recommend not leaving it indefinitely.

    @DREFASHO
    – unfortunately someone else is likely to end up with your “problem” and then not know why it doesn’t work at all and will end up having to deal with it. Please be kind and don’t do this. We can save you the trip to HD or wherever you bought it and ship one to your door, we have an excellent support team and they will take care of you, no need to pass the problem on to anyone else.

Other notes: Updates require close proximity to the hose faucet timer. Because the update is done over Bluetooth Low Energy not full Bluetooth, they can take a few minutes, please be patient. If the update fails, return the Settings > Devices > Select the timer and tap the Update Firmware button to restart the update process. Reach out here or to our tech support for help, we can usually resolve most problems without replacing the timer. The process depends on a whole bunch of things to work together at the exact moment needed, if one of them fails it can cause issues that we have not accounted for, we’re sorry, but we’ll make it right for you if you give us the chance.

    Thanks for reading!
