Long story short. Lightning hit recently, zapped my Hunter system, didn’t realize it wasn’t working until I went out to mow.
Bought a new 12 pump #57950 at Home Depot since I am fan of being able to remote control my stuff.
Installation was a breeze except when it came to the smart phone connection. Nothing found, no error message on primary Android phone. Disable mobile data, nada. Try android phone without data, nada. Try a freaking iPad! NADA!! So the app says to connect manually to the system when I take the steps to pair…guess what? Freaking nothing! The stupid wifi icon just keeps blinking and it is not transmitting an SSID.
Okay fine. I will ignore the wireless function and do it manually. Seemed to be okay, but I noticed the time keeps slipping from what I had programmed. I also noticed on manual most of the zones are only on for a minute.
Did I get someone eles’s hosed system (44:67:55:03:1A:29) that returned it to Home Depot and got something different and HD just put it back on the shelf? (Like that ever happens right?)
Tried everything I could from the forums and videos…I’ll try another one, after that I’ll go back to manual (non-Hunter…that was POS too)
System replaced. If I knew that the holes on the bottom I had to knock out myself, I would never have bought the prior.
System paired to phone, connected to wifi, setup my watering schedule…(full time until yard bounces back). Manual is watering longer than a minute, as it is running as I type. Gotta read more into the smart watering…for now I have schedule only until I get my yard looking the way it did before.
Made sure that Home Depot marked prior unit as defective so it won’t go on the shelf again.
