A big concern I have with the “smart controllers” is knowing what features do I lose and how the unit will operate when Orbit goes out of business or when they decide to no longer support the product.
We’ve had our toro controller since 1992 and 26 years later it works. Now, look at the computer companies that existed in 1992 and how many of those are still around?
Well it will still work as a normal timer, and can be programmed from the timer itself even if it isn’t connected to Wi-Fi.
