I purchased 2 of the bluetooth faucet timers (Model 21005) from Walmart about 1 month ago. They did not have the timers with the wifi hub in stock but the packing on the 21005’s indicates that the hub could be purchased separately. The box says the following on the back.
“*Easy Wifi Upgrade
Add a B-hyve Hub (model 21006 – sold seperately) to enable Wi-Fi features, giving you complete control of your watering from anywhere.”
I have looked everywhere and am unable to find the hub as a stand alone purchase. The bluetooth timers are very glitchy and do not indicate if the changed setting have been saved to the devices themselves. I have had multiple instances where one of the timers seems to have “forgot” it’s settings like rain delays, or forgets to water at all even though it indicates a watering event is supposed to occur. I’m hoping the wifi module will help with this issue but I don’t see anywhere where it is available.Spread the love!June 4, 2018 at 7:35 pm #2569
So the hose timer is sold separately from the hub. The only way to purchase the hub, is with a timer.Spread the love!June 5, 2018 at 3:33 am #2635
That is blatant false advertising. This is a very good case of bait and switch advertising. I built my entire lawn’s watering system around these devices under the assumption I could add a hub later since the box clearly indicates that is possible. If your company does not intend on releasing the hub individually, then you pulled a bait and switch on your customers. That type of practice is illegal and I intend to report it. Please have someone in your support department contact me as soon as possible.Spread the love!June 5, 2018 at 3:39 am #2636
“Bait & switch advertising is the advertising of a product that the business does not provide or does not intend to sell. Businesses usually lure consumers into stores by promising to sell or provide an item or service at a certain cost. Once the consumer is in the store, the business tries to sell the consumer a more costly item or service.”Spread the love!June 5, 2018 at 4:00 pm #2653
