Tagged: wifi / bluetooth
My timer has been working great, but I got a new router, and the timer doesn’t seem to work on the 2.4ghz channel, and it doesn’t see the 5ghz one…
Router is D-Link dir879. Any way I can troubleshoot this?
Currently the timer is only compatible with 2.4 GHz networks which is why the 5 GHz network is not visible. Check your router settings to make sure that there is no MAC filtering enabled that would keep you from pairing to a new device. If you are able change your DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 with 8.8.4.4 as a back-up. If still unable to connect please contact directly via the customer support line.
Thanks for the help. I have attempted multiple times to connect to the 2.4 GHz network with no success. I added the MAC address of the timer to the devices recognized by the router. Even changed the DNS settings as you suggested. Nothing seems to change the behavior. What happens when I put in the password for the wifi into the BHyve app, the timer responds, changing from “Pair” to “Off” while the app displays “Connecting”. Then after a second or two the timer reverts back to “Pair” and the app shows the device still disconnected.
Called in this morning to tech support for additional help. But all we did was try to connect a number of times using the normal method. No success. Hard to believe there’s something unique about my router that is thwarting all my attempts… Wifi technology hasn’t changed that much recently has it?
is there a way to update the times via bluetooth…they ones that are too far away for a constant or intermittent wifi signal?
@steverexfg, no your timer needs to be connected to internet to receive a firmware update. Please let us know if you have any other questions, or need any assistance.
I am not asking about the firmware update….updateing watering times via bluetooth is my question…
Do you mean updating watering times as in adjusting them in your program? If so then yes, you can change start times for your programs while connected to Bluetooth. If that wasn’t your question could you please try rephrasing it, so that we may better assist you? Thank you!
