I made no changes since last year when the system just stopped working. I’ve had an in-ground Bhyve timer for years now. I started with the original and was given this updated version by Orbit as part of their beta program 3-4 years ago. Their dev team made some staff changes a few years ago and stopped reaching out to me for beta testing, so I’ve not been in the loop for a while.
I was given access to their web portal with more options and data than the app, but even trying to shake the timer back into smart mode didn’t work this time.
Usually, an entire reset works, but I get mad doing that when I have all my settings dialed in for smart watering and loose them.
::Nope, but it started working. I had an Orbit rain sensor connected since I installed this timer (testing the sensor for the dev team) and disabled it a long time ago without watering issues. I connect to my weather station in the weather settings to get my rain delays, so I haven’t used the hard-wired sensor in a long time and never had an issue leaving it connected. I disconnected it and made sure the sensor setting was off, and it started working.
Who’s to say the sensor was the issue or not? My guess is not. I’ve had this issue a few times where the smart watering wouldn’t work. I’d complain about it, and suddenly, it starts working as if someone went on the back end and fixed something. It’s frustrating.
::Side note. All my bhyve hose taps are working fine. I have 5 in yard and all record and water fine. Only my in ground is not working correctly.
Looking at the calendar it looks like things went sideways somewhere around May 22nd-23rd.
Hey devs could we get some input here? Would be nice to hear something from the owners of the product.
::I’m having the same issues with smart watering. I have zones showing just one run time that would typically show four cycles, but I have an excessive runoff, so I know it’s run longer than recorded. Zones show zero moisture after the excessive runoff, so they run the following day unless I manually set the moisture to 100%. This is with all zones. Two of the zones were reset two weeks ago due to switching head types, and it worked fine at first. I have access to the Bhyve web portal and have tried resyncing and refreshing smart watering, and no change.
