B-hyve General Troubleshooting

The following troubleshooting steps are intended to help with common issues such as:

  • Power Issues
  • WiFi & Bluetooth connectivity
  • Battery Life not reporting correctly
  • The date and time aren’t correct
  • Device is non-responsive

WiFi Connectivity issues

For any WiFi issues, download and run our OrbitAssist application. This and other crucial steps can be found here.

Rebooting the B-hyve Device

Rebooting your device can help with connectivity issues, as well as any display issues.

For underground timers:

  1. Unplug it from its power source for 30 seconds
  2. Then plug the timer back into the power source

For hose timers:

  1. Remove the battery tray from the timer for 15-20 seconds
  2. Reinsert the battery tray, making sure to push it in all the way to ensure no moisture gets inside the body of the timer

Factory resetting

The steps for factory resetting a B-hyve device varies, please click here and you will be taken to a page with steps for each device.

After resetting a B-hyve device, if the device was already connected to your account you will need to reconnect your timer/hub back to your wifi network.

For the B-hyve underground timers and WiFi Hub:

  1. Open the B-hyve application
  2. Tap on my B-hyve on the lower left-hand corner
  3. Select devices
  4. Tap the device you just reset
  5. Tap update wifi settings and select your WiFi and then enter your WiFi password to reconnect

For the B-hyve Hose timers:

  1. Open the B-hyve application
  2. Tap the WiFi symbol in the top left corner and select Connect Bluetooth
  3. Tap the Bluetooth icon and then Disconnect Bluetooth

Ribbon Cable resets for the B-hyve Indoor/Outdoor Timer

On the Indoor/Outdoor timer, one step that you won’t find on any other device is the gray ribbon cable reset.

This step disconnects the power to the controller’s smartboard and can be an alternative to powering the controller off and back on but has been seen to address some issues that rebooting doesn’t like:

  • Power issues
  • Display issues
  • NO AC messages

The gray ribbon cable can be found near the wiring terminals for the timer above the 24 VAC OUT and SENSOR terminals. There is a picture below that shows the position of the cable. To reset this cable:

  1. Remove the cable, placing your fingers as close to the connector as possible
  2. Wait 15 seconds and reconnect the cable to the timer
