Failed Firmware Update

This article will go over several scenarios to help find out what firmware issue you may be seeing, and then help direct you to help identify and solve the problem.

If you are saying the following:

  • “I installed a firmware update and now I can’t connect to my B-hyve device”
  • “The update won’t finish/install”
  • “The update screen just keeps spinning”

Good Questions to ask:

  • Are you using the ‘B-hyve’ or ‘B-hyve Pro’ app?
  • Are you using an Apple or an Android device for the B-hyve app?
  • Are you near the device right now or able to be near the device?

Step 1

Force closing or force stopping the B-hyve App

How:

Force close the B-hyve App on their phone or tablet.

If using an iPhone or iPad (iOS): From any screen, swipe up to view apps that are running. Find the B-hyve app and swipe up again to force close the app.

If using an Android device:

Open the ‘Settings’ App

Choose the ‘B-hyve’ App

Touch ‘Stop or ‘Force stop’.

Note: Certain models will have different steps for force closing/stopping an app.

Step 2

Confirm the App is up to date

How:

Ensure you are using the latest version of the B-hyve application.

If using an iPhone or iPad (iOS):

  • Go to the Apple App Store and search B-hyve.
  • The first result should be the ‘b-hyve’ app (not ‘b-hyve pro/lite/ag’).
  • If you have a button that says ‘Update’, click on that. Otherwise, your app is up to date.

If using an Android device:

  • Go to the Google Play Store and search B-hyve.
  • The first result should be the ‘b-hyve’ app (not ‘b-hyve pro/lite/ag’).
  • If you have a button that says ‘Update’, click on that. Otherwise, your app is up to date.

Step 3

Making sure that you are near your device

How:

For this next step, you’ll need to ensure that you’re close to your device/timer. Please stay close to your device until we’re finished to ensure a stable connection.

Step 4

Resetting the device

How:

  • Remove the battery tray / unplug the device.
  • Wait 15 seconds before reconnecting power/batteries.
  • Press the ‘B-hyve’ button 5 times.

Step 5

Re-pairing the device

How:
