I have an old Orbit WIFI timer (bought in 2017) and it has been working flawlessly. I recently switched my ISP to GFiber, and I can’t get it connected anymore. Initially, I thought it might be because GFiber doesn’t have dedicated 2.4G band (but combined) and some other smart devices having some issues too. So I tried many hours talking to several reps from Google and Orbit (chat), but nothing worked. However, when talking to the 4th rep of Orbit on phone, she told me my sprinkler timer is too old and I can’t switch my ISP because it will not reconnect. I can’t believe this. Is it possible?
