I use smart watering but it does not seem to account for high winds and evaporation enough and so periodically I have to use the b-hyve app and select Home, Manual Watering and then the zones I want to water and how long I want to water each of them.
I noticed that when my smart phone auto locks the display that the app hangs on the station it is watering and when it finishes that station the app stops watering as does my controller.
I wish the coders at Orbit would fix this b-hyve app so it would not stop a manual watering cycle like this when I have selected multiple zones to water.
The work around I figured out is to change my settings so that the display on my smart phone never auto locks. This is kind of a pain, takes time, uses up my battery on my device and I have to remember to change my settings back when I complete the manual watering.
I wish I could just set the manual watering for multiple zones like the app allows me to do and then go back to my Home Screen and allow my phone to just auto lock after the time limit I have setup for my device.
I would think that both the app and the controller could operate in background to complete the manual watering cycle I requested whether my phone auto locks or not.
I use WiFi to connect to the Orbit controller and even if I were to leave the area and my device gets out of WiFi range, I would hope the Orbit controller would complete the manual watering cycle. Has anyone at the company tested these things and fixed or enhanced the app and the controller to be able to operate in this user friendly way? If not, please do. Thank you.
