I currently have one hub and three hose tap timers. I have a mesh WIFI extending the WIFI signal. While there is good WIFI signal, the furthest timer says it is disconnected. Am i correct in assuming that (regardless of WIFI strength), the hub is too far away. I have also tried moving the hub to a central location but still, the network is too weak to service all devices. Can I buy another hub to extend the reach of my network and have it work harmoniously with my existing set up?

    Thank you in advance.

Hi Jeffebode, my understanding is that each faucet timer can communicate with teh WiFi hub (either the USB dongle version or an irrigation controller with WiFi), and in addition, if it is closer to another faucet timer than it is to the hub, then it can ‘mesh’ the faucet timers together to minimise any path through the air, in the chain.

You cannot use multiple hubs to extend the range, but perhaps an additional faucet controller inbetween would work.

Also try ensuring distance from your wifi hub from other wireless or AC interference, such as power cords, power transformers, routers, TV’s, computers, etc. You may also wish to check up how to switch the ‘channel’ of the hub WiFi to one that may have less interference, potentially getting you some extra range.
