I just wonder if Orbit is actually working on this. I am not even sure why we need to depend on orbit to run this timer, as far as i am concerned there should be no need for this other than they keep track of what we are doing. If they can’t resolve this issue i should be getting a refund for the timer. In the meantime they could possibly update their not so friendly app as well.

After the winter i plugged the timer in and when tried to connect to my network the app would just shut down.
I removed the app and reinstalled but now the app won’t find my timer and i also cannot login to my account at orbit, so they are definitely having a problem. I went through the steps with a rep from orbit without any success.May 30, 2023 at 10:21 am #81635::I’m just here to report the same issue. Just installed mine on 5/28, and all the tests I ran that day while taking photos of the zones and counting sprinkler heads RECORDED in the watering history.
Yesterday, 5/29, I ran a manual program. I visually saw all the stations work as intended. Yet only one (station 4) recorded in the watering history. If you pull up the individual “zone detail” screen in the app, it does have yesterday’s watering as the “last watering.” But nothing shows up on the “watering History” screen or bar graph.
Now all my stations are showing below 30%, we are in drought level 2, yet smart watering wants to wait until 6/5 to run again. So I’m extra confused… if the app didn’t record yesterday’s watering event shouldn’t it be chomping at the bit to water today?
And to add to the confusion, when I went to bed last night it did say it was going to water this morning, but when I woke up it was delayed by a 30% chance of rain today (that never came) AND reset the “next watering” to 6/5 (like 6 days away). Why wouldn’t it just delay 24 hours to tomorrow?
I’m going to switch everything to manual, but I was really hoping this smart watering thing would work. Did it used to? I’m new to the product.
May 30, 2023 at 2:02 pm #81639::I have not used the smart watering function. To my understanding that is depending on the system getting an accurate weather forecast on if it will rain and getting that indication in our system that your soil is at a specific moisture content. I prefer to just adjust that on an almost day to day basis based on what the weather is actually doing and how the grass looks. I’m not running the system on manual, meaning I pre=program what I want to happen at a certain time. That is the part that appeared to not work for a few days, but now appears to be working ok.
May 31, 2023 at 9:52 am #81653::I have a program scheduled daily at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. 7:00 AM came and went today with absolutely nothing happening. Grass is still dry and “Watering History” shows 0’s across the board.
What is the actual point of having a scheduled program if it doesn’t actually run? What if I was away for a month in the summer assuming my lawn is being watered?
And FWIW, smart watering is anything but. Don’t use it.May 31, 2023 at 11:54 am #81661 -
