As many are aware, we’ve had tons of rain in the North East over the past few weeks. I went into the app and turned all zones i had programmed off. I did not think about the smart watering feature and that was still on.

Someone informed me this morning that my sprinklers have been running and even sent me some photos.

The app shows the zones at 100% saturation. Unfortunately smart doesn’t seem very smart. I’ve manually turned the feature off and will wait for things to dry out before activating any programs going forward.

I’m totally frustrated with the so called “smart” watering. It seemed like it worked in the past. Not sure if the updated the firmware in the unit or what. No troubleshooting guides, the manual is a joke, no one answers the phone etc. I’ve notice that the saturation will be like 60% one day, no rain and the next morning it will show 100%. The “smart” controller will say the watering is schedule for the next day, no rain, and then when the next day comes it will say watering is scheduled for the next. Horrible.

My smart watering system was watering every day. When I went through the app, discovered it had reverted to bluetooth instead of WiFi. While BT will talk to my phone, it does not connect to the internet to get weather forecast. Now that I’ve reconnected to internet, it shows forecast and will not sprinkle tomorrow. I believe the controller changed when I changed ISP. For a time there was no internet, the device probably changed to bluetooth on its own. BTW: The chat BOT isn’t smart either, told be to call 8-5 mountain time, which I did. It couldn’t understand my question and disconnected. How rude!
