I have had a BHyve for three years and it works very well. I have 3 zones, all of them with drip irrigation. System does its job, but I am struggling to adjust it into two cycles.
I live in the Coachella Valley and we water most days of the year. What I want to able to do is run (say) a maximum of 5 minutes in the pre dawn watering and the remainder (if required) at dusk or even just split the times. The smart system keeps adding minutes to the run time and then we get a lot of run off as it doesn’t infiltrate that fast.
Does anyone have any tricks or ideas?

For your problem, CMARK, you can try changing the type of soil, or maybe the number of emitters for the problem zones. It’s trial & error, though. I don’t know the effects of the changes. One of my zones always waters in two segments with a short pause in between, presumably to allow the water to soak in… I’m not sure you can water once in the morning and again in the evening.
I have the same type of problem – I would like to trick the “smart” system to water more frequently. Here in Phoenix, we are having one week of 80 degree highs, and another week of 100 degree highs. The smart watering doesn’t water often enough during the hot weeks, in my opinion. There should be a way to trick the system to water more often.

Thank you for the reply. I used to have a 3-minute cycle for each station at 8:00pm after dusk, but that didn’t work well. I thought that the Smart watering would adjust around the scheduled watering. Did not do it very well. The morning water starts a 6:00 am
I will try the soil adjustment to one with a lower infiltration rate and see what happens. Thanks
