Ok, so now I have a Bhyve XD faucet timer and the 2nd gen hub. The timer will still only connect via bluetooth to my phone. The water sensors still work fine, though. What am I doing wrong? Ok, so I just reset the modem. Re added the XD faucet, moved the hub to within 5ft of the timer and I’ve made some progress. But WTH? It still won’t connect!

A while ago there was an ad on Facebook for a 3 pack of water sensors with the hub for $39. Great deal so I bought it. In January, I was looking for an automatic wifi hose/faucet controller for an irrigation system I was planning and saw this. At the time, on Amazon, it didn’t specify that there were different generations of wifi hubs. It just said you needed a b-hyve wifi hub, which I had. I just found an open box controller on ebay for much less money than buying a gen 1 wifi hub, so I bought that instead. I wasn’t going to give Orbit any more of my money.

I have the 21005 faucet timer and the B-hyve® Gen 2.0 Wi-Fi Hub (PN 21027). So my newer hub doesn’t work with the 21005 timer? That’s ridiculous. I never would have bought this had I know that.

I’ve only tried using the 2.4ghz wifi signal. My hub, which I’ve had for a few years now, works just fine with my water sensors. Well, except one which seems to have recently died. I can check them just fine away from my home. My faucet timer does not work properly.

My mistake. If I put the batteries in, run the set up it doesn’t find anything. If I hit the button 5 times it finds it, sets it up and when I select to start using the device, it briefly flashes a notification that my device is offline and the bluetooth connection (searching) pops up. And then the only way I can control it is via bluetooth.
