    Need more information.

What weather station are you using?
Are you using smart watering or manual timer settings?

You have to be careful using the information ‘as-is.’ Trust the process and let the system run. I would leave the default of 30% chance of rain and .125″ of accumulation.

If you look closely at your weather calendar it does show rain on that day, but also predicts “0.000% precipitation.”

My ‘next automated cycle,’ was to be three days after an entire (ALL DAY) day of rain. The grass seemed pretty dry the next day, but I was okay with waiting a few days. The SmartWatering kicked off a watering event this morning, Which the lawn really needed but I was going to wait and see what happened. Turns out it was a good choice.

My schedule showed both zones running at the same time on the same day. I left it alone, the next time I checked, the system actually split them into two different days. Very clever.

So my advice, check all your settings, revert to defaults and be patient with results. If you look closely at your picture of the rain schedule, you will see there there is “0.000% precipitation,” expected for that day.

The only way to really know what you are getting, is to run catch cups, check and empty them daily. Record all your results.

The system is supposed to be automated and will make adjustments on the fly. Once you trust the system, it does seem to work very well.

I live in an area that will show ‘rain,’ but the amount is so low it is not really considered. Rained ALL-DAY yesterday, but there was insignificant amount, hardly measurable. We are also in a very dry situation.

It is supposed to rain again on the 20th. “0.03 inches of rain,” expected.
Going to rain on the 26th. “0.00 inches of rain.”

Automation needs time to see results. Check the lawn or plants, what ever you are watering, weekly. Are they doing well, too much water or too little. Checking daily does not give you good information. It is a long game, be patient. Little extra water this week, little less next week, not going to make much difference. Amount of water for the week, or month, is a better picture of the results.

This is worth a try, if you are still stuck.

Disconnect hub from power. Press and hold the B button while re-connecting power to the hub. After a couple seconds of power, release the button.

The light may continue to flash yellow, give it a minute. Then remove from power and plug back in. Give it a minute or two, press the B button five times to go back to pairing mode.

Make sure you have removed the hub from your account before trying to add it back in.

Make sure you have Location Services enabled for the B-Hyve app on your phone and connect with Bluetooth to automatically update timer. Otherwise the timer may be on GMT, not your local timezone.

Seems odd that location would not pull from WiFi for your address, but obscure information suggests that only a Bluetooth connection, with location services active, will update this information.

Also make sure you address is correct for the device location.

Did you have one device and then purchase the other? Curious how you ended up with incompatible items. Are you able to return the hub and replace with a Gen1 unit? The website is pretty clear what devices the Gen2 hub can control.

There is talk that the Gen2 hub will (at some point in time,) be compatible with the Gen1 hose tap timers, but no specifics. Or if that ever happens.

    Patience is the key.

Bring the timer near the phone. Take out the battery, wait at least an hour. Put battery back in, wait about half an hour. Give everything time to settle.

Then make sure the device has been removed from the app, and start the ‘add device,’ process again.

You must be connected with Bluetooth and very close to the timer for a firmware update. If successful reconnecting, stay on bluetooth and you can try the update again, after ten minutes or so. (I have rescued a couple of timers with failed updates.)

Very curious how you were able to attempt to add device from web portal. Please explain.

Orbit does not have any mechanism for email support. Odd, I know. Where are you sending the email?

I can say the website does synchronize, for what little information is available. The app is getting more attention and updates have been coming fairly frequently. Website is pretty useless for some devices.

Yes, two options. You can ‘share,’ access (most appropriate.) Or just log in with the same credentials.

Sharing requires two separate accounts. Once you have your system set up, go to My B-Hyve, Devices, select each device and select Device Sharing. Select if this is a casual ‘user,’ or someone who can ‘manage,’ your devices. A code will be generated for the other person to use adding devices to their account.

Write down each of the device codes and use to ‘add device,’ to the other account.

For such a large project, check out hydrorain.com. This is the commercial division of Orbit. But you should really be looking for a good contractor. They will guide you for products that they can support and service.

Orbit is part of Gardena group, part of the Husqvarna brand of companies. Orbit is a pretty large player in the Irrigation arena, commercial and residential. Shipping to several countries, with several brands and diverse irrigation productions in the portfolio.

Development is still functioning, but it is frustrating when things go wrong. There are app issues at the moment, new version a few weeks back. NOBODY has good support anymore. Everyone is relying on ‘community,’ support to cut costs.

And every brand will bash the other brand. Orbit controllers are consistently ranked highly. One top ten controller list takes three spots, a top three list takes spots 2 & 3.

You can actually get ahold of someone at Orbit pretty easily, but they are just phone people. Not experienced product specialists.

Growing pains? Time will tell. Noting is certain these days.

I would ask, did the sprinklers run when expected but the concern is no visible history?

There are known issues with the backend and possibly the recent app update. If the timers are running on the expected schedule, best to leave them alone and wait until the bugs have been worked out.

Going after resets and reprogramming when the backend systems are having issues is just going to add frustration and difficulties getting things set back up correctly. (I have two devices that cannot be registered at the moment. Support: ‘We are having trouble with the app.’)

I would say that is a no. You can EITHER, have SmartWatering or manual schedule.

If you manually set a schedule to water, that is what will happen. Enabling Smart Watering will not override an existing manual schedule. You will not get the benefits of automation and water savings. You may get automated rain delays, but that is about it.

Deleting all manual schedules and enabling SmartWatering will create a customized watering plan for your needs based on the details you provide in Smart Zone Details. Answer all the questions, highly recommend using Catch Cups. (Check every setting)

My SmartWater schedule: For the remainder of June, this will repeat every six days. Then every 5 days for July and August.
Zone 1) Two 18 minute cycles with 10 minutes of soak time between.
Zone 2) Three 6 minute cycles with 10 minutes of soak time between.

Gen 1 faucet timers are NOT compatible with Gen 2 hub. Not a WiFi issue.

Don’t expect they ever will be.

I use Energizer Lithium. At first, the battery would keep showing about 58%. When I connected to the device, 100%. By the next day all timers show 100% all the time.

There are several issues with the latest app update. Fingers crossed, there will be some resolution soon.

Orbit is having issues with the app. Lot of connectivity problems reported.

Many devices showing off line, cannot register new devices, cannot log into app, etc..

Problem been ongoing issue for at least three weeks. Doesn’t seem to be any closer to resolution.

Very frustrating. I have two devices that cannot be used at the moment.

You can either have a scheduled program, or switch to Smart Watering.

If you have created a manual schedule and enabled Smart Watering, the manual schedule will continue. Deleting the scheduled run time will allow Smart Watering to create an automatic scheduled runtime. (That is how it worked for me. Also warned that my manual schedule was likely overwatering.)

Water Restrictions allows you to program local regulation of which days and times you are allowed to water.

Smart Watering created the following for me.
First lawn zone has two 18 minute runs
Second lawn zone has three 15 minute runs.

Same grass, slope and shade. Different flow rates and spray patterns.

Little bit of soak time between each run.
